About this product
BEYEM ELASTIC is a flexibilizer, synthetic emulsion for cementitious, lime and gypsum mixtures, which improves the adhesion, mechanical performance, flexibility and impermeability of the mixtures to which it is added. Water formulated copolymer acrylic emulsion based product. Single-component and solvent free.
Benefits
- Decreases the risk of cracking.
- Environmentally friendly and respects users’ health.
- Stable in alkaline media.
- Provides UV resistance.
- Increases resistance to freeze-thaw cycles.
- Excellent flexibilizer power.
- Ready to use.
Use
Emulsion used to improve adhesion, mechanical performance, chemical resistance, impermeability and flexibility of conventional mortars. Confers greater cohesion and plasticity to the mortars to which it is added to. Binding and cohesive additive for various materials and raw materials. Suitable for use in mortars made on site, high-strength cementitious plasters, bonded screeds made “in situ”, application of cementitious layers etc… BEYEM ELASTIC is used adding it to the mixing water of the products to which it is incorporate to.
Substrates
BEYEM ELASTIC is suitable for:
Concrete screeds.
- Cement, gypsum or lime based substrates.
- Renders.
- Renovation substrates.
- Industrial mortars.
Preparation of substrates
The abovementioned substrates onto which the mixtures modified with BEYEM ELASTIC is to be applied must be sound, clean, free from paint residue, poorly bonded parts or substances which may hinder adherence such as dust, dirt etc… All removable parts must be taken away. Surface treatments such as waxes, oils and products for removing formwork must be removed. The substrate must have undergone the drying hygrometric shrinkage. On hot days and on very absorbent substrates, it is advisable to previously moisten the substrate and wet the mortar 24 hours after application. This operation is essential to avoid rapid drying of the mortar and will depend on the degree of porosity and absorption of the substrate.
Instructions for use
Homogenize the material prior to application.
BEYEM ELASTIC must be previously mixed with the mixing water which is to be used to stir the product to which it is added to, thoroughly homogenising the mixture prior to making the mortar and using the appropriate ratio so as to obtain a plastic consistency. BEYEM ELASTIC can be mixed with different ratios of water according to the degree of ultimate performance which are intended to be obtained with the product. The recommended ratio is 1 Part BEYEM ELASTIC: 2 to 5 Parts water. The product obtained can be mixed and applied using conventional means according to its purpose.
Recommendations
- Do not apply below 5ºC or above 35ºC.
- Do not use as a primer without mixing with binding agents.
- In very hot or windy environmental conditions, after application of the product, the surface of the mortar must be protected to prevent a too rapid drying.
- For unspecified applications, consult the Technical Department.
- The use of BEYEM ELASTIC does not exempt from the strict compliance with the valid regulations for the proper execution of the works, and in particular, the use of the appropriate aggregates for the application which is to be carried out.

Project specification
The improvement in the cohesion, plasticity, mechanical performance, adhesion, flexibility and impermeability of cementitious mixtures and mortars made “in situ” will be carried out using the synthetic water single-component and solvent free emulsion Beyem Elastic, manufactured by the company Rodacal Beyem. The dose will be 1 Part Beyem Elastic: 2 to 5 Parts water. The substrate must be clean, moisture-free and free from friable parts.
