BEYEM REFRAC is a refractory mortar formulated with alumninous cement, refractory aggregates and special additives to improve plasticity and workability of mortar. Especially suitable for laying refractory brickworks and plastering at high temperature conditions. BEYEM REFRAC AC is a version also available for non-industrial applications (up to 800 ºC).
- Ideal for chimneys, barbecues, furnaces, etc.
- High thermal resistance.
- High mechanical strengths.
- Easy to apply.
- Resistant to 1000 ºC.
- For interior and exterior use.
Laying of refractory brickwork, terracottas subjected to high temperatures conditions (up to 800 °C). Construction of chimneys, barbecues, furnaces, etc. Wall plastering at high temperatures or fire conditions. BEYEM REFRAC AC is a version also available for industrial applications (up to 1000 °C).
BEYEM REFRAC is suitable for:
- Refractory bricks, terracottas for refractory applications, etc.
- Other substrates in contact whit high temperatures and/or fire (contact Technical Support).
Substrates must be clean, compact and free of substances that reduce adhesion such as dust, oil, grease and with no loose material. Uneven areas must be corrected. Substrates must be free from any rising damp and have already completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage. Dampen substrates with water to cool down if they should be too warm, in case of wind or over absorbent substrates and wait until the thin layer of water disappears. It is a good practice curing with a fine spray of clean water 24 h after application. Do not use on gypsum based plasters or paint.
Mix manually of mechanically BEYEM REFRAC with 4,0-5,5 l per bag of clean water until a homogeneous, creamy and lump-free paste is obtained. Let the mix stand for 5 minutes before application. Spread the mixed product with a trowel onto the substrate. Place the brick over the fresh mortar layer and press to ensure adhesion. Smooth with the same trowel.
- Do not re-mix product residues that have started to harden, because that causes a decrease in the properties of the mortar.
- Do not apply below 5ºC or above 30ºC.
- Do not apply when there is risk of frost, rain, strong wind or direct sunlight.
- Always mix with the specified amount of water.
- In extreme weather conditions (strong winds or high temperatures) it is necessary to water the product
- with light sprinklers the day after applying it.
- Put into service after 7 days, heating gradually.

BEYEM REFRAC is packed 25 kg plastic lined paper bags.
Storage: when stored unopened in a cool dry place, shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture.
Tools can be cleaned easily with water before the product hardens. Hardened product can be remove only mechanically.
Laying refractory brickworks must be carried out with refractory mortar for applications exposed to high temperatures, such as Beyem Refrac manufactured by Rodacal Beyem Company. The substrate and/or brick must be clean, sound, compact and dimensionally stable. Expansion joints must be respected.
