Dehumidifying lime mortar for renovating masonry affected by rising damp, filtration, condensation and efflorescences both in building rehabilitation and new construction. Fine finish. Interior and exterior situations.
BEYEM NEOCAL SANAMUR is suitable for:
- Brickwork enclosures, walls , rendering mortars and plasters affected by humidity.
Substrates must be clean, compact and free of substances that reduce adhesion such as dust, oil, grease and with no loose material. Substrates must submit an adequate porosity, flatness and surface roughness. In old substrates, residues of other coatings, dirt, dust and microorganisms must be completely removed. To eliminate microorganisms, use a biocide cleaner indicated for this purpose. If necessary, use sandblasting technique or wash with high pressure water. In old substrates, all friable elements must be completely removed and the joints emptied. Fill the gaps of the substrate with BEYEM NEOCAL SANAMUR. Let harden. Dampen substrates with water to cool down if they should be too warm, in case of wind or over absorbent substrates and wait until the thin layer of water disappears. It is a good practice curing with a fine spray of clean water 24 h after application. Curing operation is essential to avoid rapid drying and depends on the degree of porosity and surface absorption. Do not apply on cellular concrete, gypsum-based plasters, paint, metal surfaces, plastic, surface waterproofing products or materials with low mechanical properties.
BEYEM NEOCAL SANAMUR is presented in adequate proportions of its two components. Pour the component B (liquid) into a clean container and add the component A (powder) little by little. Mix until a homogeneous, creamy and lump-free paste is obtained. Let the mix stand for 5 minutes before application. Spread the mixed product with a trowel (in case of manually or mechanically application) leaving 8-10 mm of average thickness depending on the desired finish. Thicknesses up to 20-25 mm can be applied in layers of 10 mm thick per day. Press to ensure adhesion. Smooth with a ruler the applied material to regulate thickness. When BEYEM NEOCAL SANAMUR is green (set but not fully hardened) it should be finished using the appropriate tool depending on the desired texture (trowelled, fine scraping…). Time until finishing depends of substrate, temperature and humidity.
- Do not apply below 5ºC or above 30ºC.
- Do not apply when there is risk of frost, rain, strong wind or direct sunlight.
- Do not vary the mixing ratio of the components.
- Do not apply on plasters, old paints, or degraded substrates without first treating them.
- Lime mortars have a slower setting, so the hardening time increases.
- It is not advisable to apply on horizontal or sloped surfaces in exterior situations.
- Protect top edges of facade from rainwater penetration.
- Expansion joints should be included as required by the substrate and respected by all applied materials.
- Reinforcement with alkali resistant fiberglass mesh may also be required, dependent upon substrate condition ( junctions of different surfaces, corners of voids…), project specification or applied thickness greater than recommended.
- In cases of extreme rising damp, an horizontal chemical barrier is recommended.
- BEYEM NEOCAL SANAMUR must be used in conjunction with other techniques where necessary.
- Consult to the Technical Department in case of doubt or in cases not described.

BEYEM NEOCAL SANAMUR is packed in pre-measured batches of 31,5 kg (25 kg plastic lined paper bags – Component A- and 6,5 kg plastic bottle – Component B-).
Storage: when stored unopened in a cool dry place, shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture.
Tools can be cleaned easily with water before the product hardens. Hardened product can be removed only mechanically.
Renovation of masonries deteriorated by the presence of rising damp, filtrations, condensations and soluble salts, must be carried out with COVs and radiation free, two-component dehumidifying lime mortar compliant with EN 998-1- Class R CSII, such as BEYEM NEOCAL SANAMUR manufactured by Rodacal Beyem Company. Coverage will be ≈ 1,4 kg/m2 per mm of thickness. The substrate must be clean, sound, compact and dimensionally stable. Expansion joints must be respected.
