About this product
BEYEM FIX is a ready-to-use, cement-free, dispersion adhesive, aqueous dispersion copolymer based formula adhesive, with selected granulometry mineral loads and state-of-the-art additives. Particularly suitable for fixing tiles over old wall tilings.
Benefits
- Ready-to use.
- Great flexibility. Highly deformable.
- High adherence.
- Easy-to-use.
- Allows for fixing over old wall tilings in good condition.
- Extended open time.
- High adjustability time.
- Great versatility of substrates, including deformable.
Use
Laying of ceramic claddings, on all types of substrates, in interior claddings. Suitable for small and medium-size ceramics with medium, low or zero porosity. Gypsum board tiling, installation of polystyrene boards and other insulation material boards, wall tiling on existing ceramic tilings, ceramic installation on deformable supports and fixing on plaster surfaces.
Substrates
BEYEM FIX is suitable for:
- Conventional cement-based and mortar render substrates.
- Concrete.
- Gypsum and gypsum wall boards.
- Brickwork or ceramic blocks.
- Hard natural stone, plaster and wood.
- Painted surfaces (provided the paint is properly adhered to the substrate).
- Old wall tilings (tile on tile).
Preparation of substrates
Substrates must be clean, compact and free of substances that reduce adhesion such as dust, oil, grease and with no loose material. Uneven areas must be corrected with suitable smoothing and finishing products. Substrates must be free from any rising damp and have already completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage.
Instructions for use
Mix BEYEM FIX until complete homogenisation. Spread the paste onto approximately 1m2 small area using a 4×4 mm notched trowel or a 4mm sawtooth trowel to regulate the thickness. Bed the tiles firmly into the adhesive with a slight sliding and/or twisting action, to ensure a good contact and complete coverage.
Recommendations
- Do not use on flooring or metals.
- Do not apply below 5ºC or above 30ºC.
- Do not apply in exterior situations.
- Do not apply in broad daylight or on hot surfaces.
- Do not apply using a notched trowel greater than 4 mm.
- Leave joints between tiles with a minimum width of 2mm. Grout with BEYEM JUNTA UNIVERSAL/BEYEM JUNTA EXTRAFINA.
- Comply with expansion, division and perimeter joints.
- Do not apply onto surfaces where there is risk of continuous exposure to humidity.
- The temperature, ventilation, absorption of the substrate and various covering materials may vary the adhesive workability/adjustability and curing times.
- When applying BEYEM FIX on low absorbent substrates, the hardening of the paste will be slower, it is recommended not to grout until it has hardened.
- Do not apply on non-absorbent tiles on non-absorbent substrates.

Project specification
Laying of ceramic tiles will be carried out using the organic adhesive that comes in a ready to use paste Beyem Fix, manufactured by the company Rodacal Beyem, Class D1E as per the EN 12004 Standard. The substrate must be sound, clean, dry, free of friable parts, completely hardened and its shrinkage completed. The expansion, division and perimeter joints must be respected. Ceramic tiles must be laid with joint-gap spacers with a width of ___ mm.
