About this product
BEYEM R2 T Fast is a one-component, thixotropic, low shrinkage and high strength fast setting mortar for non-structural repair works. Formulated with special cements, selected aggregates, organic additives and resins to improve adhesion and mechanical strengths. Fiber-reinforced. Specially suitable for small repairs and anchorages. Fine finish.
Benefits
- Class R2.
- Modified polymer mortar (PCC).
- High mechanical strengths.
- High adhesion.
- Thixotropic.
- Fibrorreforzado.
- Free of chlorides and organic fibers.
- Very low shrinkage behaviour.
- Both internal and external use.
- Fine finish surface ready to paint.
- Superior workability.
Use
Non-structural punctual concrete repairs, cavity filling, sub-frame anchorage and arrises. For the mounting of window frames, pipes and in general small repair works. Repairs of balconies corners, cornices, edges, etc…Vertical works that require a quick and fine finish.
Restoration works (Principle 3 , method 3.1 and 3.3 of EN 1504-9 ). Repair of spalling and damaged concrete in buildings. Preserving or restoring passivity (Principle 7, method 7.1 and 7.2 of EN 1504-9). Increasing cover with additional mortar and replacing contaminated or carbonated.
Substrates
BEYEM R2 T Fast is suitable for:
- Concrete, mortar, brick and non-waterproofed concrete blocks (minimum cohesion ≥ 1,0 MPa).
- Precast concrete elements.
- Cement based substrates.
Substrates must be free from dust, loose material, surface contamination and materials which reduce bond or prevent suction or wetting by repair materials. Steel reinforcements must be free of rust, grease, oil and other adhesion impairing contaminants (Sa21/2 degree). Where necessary, concrete must be cleaned by sandblasting, high pressure water jetting or other approved mechanical methods that do not cause vibration or impact, to leave a clean and keyed surface. Absorbent substrates should be previously wetted until they are saturated, preventing waterlogging, and applying the mortar once the surface has a matt appearance. Smooth, slightly absorbent or very damaged substrates should be treated to obtain a surface with minimum guarantees of roughness and tensile strength. Minimum roughness of at least 5 mm. Dampen cement based substrates with water to cool down if they should be too warm, in case of wind or over absorbent substrates and wait until the thin layer of water disappears. It is a good practice curing the product after application. Do not apply on cellular concrete, gypsum based plasters, paint, plastic, wood or materials with low mechanical properties. For more information regarding substrate preparation, refer to the recommendations provided in EN 1504-10.
Mix manually of mechanically BEYEM R2 T Fast with ≈ 4,5 l per bag of clean water until a homogeneous, and and lump-free paste is obtained. BEYEM R2 T Fast must be applied by hand using traditional techniques in the 10 minutes following mixing. The time will depend on the environmental and substrate conditions. The product must be applied in thicknesses not more than 40 mm per layer (except anchors), respecting the correct application techniques. Fill the cavity with a trowel ensuring that no holes are left. Press down firmly to ensure the product sticks well to the substrate. Finishing can be done with the same trowel or float as soon as the mortar has started to stiffen.
- Do not apply below 5ºC or above 30ºC.
- Do not apply when there is risk of frost, rain, strong wind or direct sunlight.
- Do not add water in excess of the recommended dosage .
- Do not apply on gypsum, metal or wood.
- Protect the mortar applied of early dehydration, using suitable curing methods. The curing operation in humid environment is essential for at least 24 hours after application.
- Mix only sufficient material that can be applied using available labour and equipment.
- Do not add cement, sand or other substances that may affect the properties of the material.
