Lightweight, rainwater-proof, projected aggregate and textured finishes, one coat mortar for facade decoration.

BEYEM B-P is a lightweight  rainwater-proof   one coat mortar  for decoration of facades. Formulated with white cement, selected and lightweight aggregates, special additives,  and inorganic pigments.

It allows constant hygrometric exchange between the substrate and the environment. Especially suitable for projected aggregate  finishing.

BEYEM B-P is suitable for:

  • Brickwork. Ceramic bricks.
  • Concrete blocks.
  • Concrete  (treated with BEYEM UNIÓN MORTEROS adhesion promoter primer).
  • Cement based substrates.

Substrates must be clean, compact and  free of substances that reduce adhesion such as dust, oil, grease and with no loose material. Substrates must submit an adequate porosity and surface roughness. Uneven areas must be corrected.  Dampen substrates with water  to cool down if they should be too warm, in case of wind or over absorbent substrates  and wait until the thin layer of water disappears. It is a good practice curing with a fine spray of clean water  24 h after application.

Do not apply on cellular concrete, gypsum based plasters, paint, plastic, wood or materials with  low mechanical properties.

Mix manually of mechanically BEYEM B-P with 6,5-7,5 l per bag of clean water until a homogeneous, creamy and lump-free paste  is obtained. Let the mix stand for 5 minutes before application. To apply with render  spray machine, it´s necessary to set the relation water/mortar  and pump pressure depending on section and length of hose  and climatology conditions. It´s important to maintain the  variables affecting the properties of the applied mortar (distance to the wall, angle of application and water proportion). Spread the mixed product with a trowel (in case of manually or mechanically application) leaving  10-16 mm of average  thickness, after marking the pieces by using PVC splines. Press to ensure adhesion and expel the air contained in the pores. Smooth with a ruler the applied material to regulate thickness.

Projected aggregate finish: Once the surface has been levelled and before the superficial coat is dry (between 10-40 min), apply the chosen aggregate and press with the trowel to achieve the same level for aggregates and mortar.

Textured finish: The modeling work will be done with the right tool when the product begins to harden,   taking into account the sculpture and decorated to make. It is advisable to use a release agent  to improve the ease of separating stamp and  texturing tools from the freshly placed mortar. To avoid changes in tone always carry out this procedure at the same hardening point. 

  • Always mix with the specified amount of water.
  • Do not apply below 5ºC or above 30ºC.
  • Do not apply when there is  risk of frost, rain, strong wind or direct sunlight.
  • It is not advisable to apply on horizontal or sloped surfaces. 
  • Above 16 mm of thickness, apply the product in two layers, leaving a roughness surface in the first to improve the adhesion of the second layer.
  • Protect top edges of facade from rainwater penetration.
  • The minimum finishing thickness of render must be 10 mm, to contribute actively to the  waterproofing of surface.
  • Reinforcement with alkali resistant fiberglass mesh  may also be required, dependent upon substrate condition ( junctions of different surfaces, corners of voids…)  and project specification.
  • Demarcate pieces of work using PVC battens previously placed.
  • Expansion joints should be included as required by the substrate and respected by all applied materials.
  • It is necessary to use a primer on too high absorption substrates, as a cellular concrete, or on very low absorption substrates.
  • Variations in weather conditions during application, and the application in several phases can produce changes in tone.

BEYEM B-P is packed 25 kg plastic lined paper bags.

Storage:  when stored unopened in a cool dry place, shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture.

Tools can be cleaned easily with water before the product hardens. Hardened product can be remove only mechanically.

Coloured rendered surfaces with projected aggregate finish, must be carried out with lightweight, one coat dry mortar compliant with EN 998-1- Class OC CSIV Wc2, such as Beyem B-P manufactured by Rodacal Beyem Company. Coverage will be ≈ 13 kg/m2 per cm of thickness. The substrate must be clean, sound, compact and dimensionally stable. Expansion joints must be respected.
